This is the second book in the time traveller series. I would say that it is the perfect continuation of the first book and has all the elements of an entertaining thriller. The cliffhanger at the end will surely make you look forward to the next book. As it is a part of the time traveller series, I couldn’t help but compare it with the first book. Devourers from Suryaksh is quite bold, pacey and modern when compared to Varun Sayal ‘s previous work. It also has a powerful first chapter just like in the first book.
It all starts with the introduction of kshins who are aliens from Suryaksh who feed on human emotions. Kshins want to conquer the world so they can inflict pain and use the human emotions. They are like Dementors from Harry Potter, except that these kshins can possess humans and take over their lives in the end. They want to use up the human emotions to revive their entire race. Nefe, a top member of the kshins community is in charge of executing the plan.
The kulleens are a more emphatic tribe of people with some superpowers who fight against the kshins and try to save the world. Tej with the help of kulleens try to fight against the kshins. They seek help from an unexpected source which is the perfect twist in the story. Whether the kshins are stopped is written as an intricate tale of plots and twists including modern technology.
The ending is unexpected. I’m eagerly awaiting the next book for the suspense to be revealed. It is that good. Do grab your copy now. The time traveller series itself is unique and very engaging. Varun Sayal has done an excellent job with the second book. Thank you so much for the review copy. I loved reading it. I would rate 4.5/5 stars for this Sci-fi thriller.
