Charioteer Creatures in Mind – Abhishek Mishra

IMG_20200316_212448_931The title of the book is one of a kind and the cover really intrigued me. I was interested to read this book as soon as I read the blurb. I would say I was very glad that I picked this book as it was unique, thrilling and very engrossing till the end. It is a mix of Sci-fi, love, values, and national spirit.

It is the story of Vikram Saha, an agent with the Indian Intelligence. He has lost his loved ones in an attack. The story picks up the pace when Vikram finds a research center that does experiments on human brains inside the headquarters of the Indian Intelligent Service. The human specimens used for the research have acquired mental illness. These specimens were put through hypnosis and telepathy. How this information is useful for him is the rest of the story.

I liked the narrative of the story. The characters Vikram Saha, his assistant Loy and of course the villain Firoze Khan, the terrorist are very strong. They add much depth and flavor to the story. There were some concepts of Buddhism interwoven in the book. Each chapter proves to be a lesson in itself. It was thrilling to read this book. It builds up to a nail-biting finish. The ending lives up to the build-up. I was lost in the book as it was so unpredictable and I wanted to finish the book sooner to know the ending. This thrilling plot definitely deserves a 4/5.
