Killing time in Delhi – Ravi Shankar Etteth

IMG_20190317_201714_739.jpgAfter reading Brahmin by Ravi Shankar Etteth, I was excited to read Killing Time in Delhi. Well the author definitely impressed with this new rich guy caught up in a murder story. It was totally different from his previous work. It was an Intriguing read. Right from the cover it keeps you guessing what is going to happen next. I enjoyed reading it because it had not one but two two deaths in the first chapter and the whole story kind of revolves around it.
Chaitanya Seth who likes to be called Charlie is very rich. There’s so much money that he doesn’t work. His girlfriend Rita dies of drug overdose in his house. Charlie trusts his servant Chow to take care of it and goes to a party for his alibi. But unfortunately he gets caught up in another murder at the party. Now, Charlie is made to depend on Mandy and Shamsher the guruji who tries to build up an ashram. He couldn’t help but trust Mandy though he is suspicious about her. So he goes in search of his only long lost relative to help him get out of this mess. Does he find the truth and gets out of the murder case is the rest of the story.
The author introduces us to a whole world of Delhi rich parties, drugs, vengeance, affairs, dead bodies in the closet, beautiful flash backs of long lost love, disloyal servants and money scheming swamiji. I would recommend it if you are looking for something different and light. There is no gripping sadness because of the murders. So it’s not dark. The ending was unexpected which made the whole book enjoyable to read. I would rate the book a big 4 stars. Thank you writers melon for the review copy. It was a great pleasure once again to be associated with you guys.
